Augusta man files lawsuit against Sears

BANGOR -- An Iranian-born U.S. citizen has filed a federal lawsuit against Sears claiming his supervisor at the store where he worked called him a terrorist, slurred him racially and denounced his religious views.

Twenty-eight-year-old Kaveh Khansar Nejad of Augusta, who is a devout follower of the Seventh-day Adventist denomination, filed the suit Tuesday in U.S. District Court in Bangor. In the suit, he claims his supervisor unfairly denied him pay raises and promotions, and forced him to perform duties that caused him to reinjure his back.

He is seeking back pay, damages, attorney fees and an injunction ordering Sears to take steps to ensure other employees aren't discriminated against.
A Sears spokesman said the company does not comment on pending litigation. Source

Why would a release of information concerning this case point out the fact that he is a Seventh-day Adventist? ( I didn't mean here)..

Because his religious views became relevant if the alleged discrimination was based on his religious views.

Any Adventist who chooses a public lawsuit instead of Paul's counsel is on thin ice (1 Cor 6:7).

Anyone who sits back and lets organization oppress individuals is on thin ice. Jesus came to free the oppressed (Math 26:)

Fortunately the thin ice you perceive is not all that dangerous given that it thinly covers a rather shallow depth of understanding of what Paul was really taking about...

1 Cor. 6: 5,6 shows that the issue has to do with lawsuits brought between Christians. The idea is that Christians ought to suffer wrong rather than expose the Christian community to disgrace by showing its misdeeds in a public court.

Such sentiments, harmonizing as they do with one's vocation may demonstrate in the process that our kingdom is of this world.

This is the spirit of the Satraps of Daniel six, contrasted vividly with the words of Jesus the Christ in His Sermon on the Mountain.

You are free to do what you wish. As for me and my house, we will appeal to the Law of God in our hearts rather than the lawyers of this world, everytime. God has a purpose in every trial that we experience. His purpose is that we would be refined by the spirit of Christ, and when we enter into a litigious evil-for-evil (which is what it is) we are refined by our carnal nature.
