Is there a thread someplace already talking about what we can expect heaven to be like?

Years ago my dad liked to tell me that when he gets to heaven he wants to have a house with a glass floor orver a rose garden.

My daughter wants a glass house under water so as to watch turtles, otters, fish, etc. swim and play.

A young lady I worked with years ago told me that she loves the ocean, but then told me that she loves waterfalls. Why can't she build right over a waterfall, letting it fall through her house, or build either at the top or bottom of a one falling into the ocean?

I have seen some rather interesting treehouses in my days. I dream of building one (training one) to allow me "rooms" and even real floors, windows, etc.

But one question I have had over the years is why do we even need a house? There will not be damaging storms, etc.

I was thinking about languages yesterday and realized that when we get to heaven we may find that each planet out there actually has a different language. I expect that we will either have the ability to understand it already, or to learn it, but I also expect that every person in the universe will speak a common language also.

Can you imagine how many different kinds of languages there must be with so many different ones just here on earth?

On the new earth, we will have a house in the city and a different house in the country. My first plan will be to invite Jesus to be my guest in my country house. Imagine having the Creator of the universe stay at your house and share a meal with you. He'll no doubt have millions of invitations. But that is no problem-- there will be plenty of time to fill the appointments.

You know actually I'm not a cook and since I'm told that I will be living alone I wouldn't want to invite anyone for a meal!.....mel

Cannot imagine that a loving God would tease us like this. If He says that He is going to prepare a place for us and that we cannot even dream of what He is preparing for us I believe it. Either we trust God and His word, or we do not.

Sorry about your heaven. My heaven has streets of gold, no pain or sickness and much more than "just a kindly-offered finger dipped in water". And I'm not just going on some "blue-sky promise" either. He has give me all the evidence that I need to know that what He has said is true.

Mel, I feel bad for you. Maybe you can come over and eat at my house with Jesus. Actually, I'd rather just eat at His house. Maybe we should all meet there instead?
