Welcome with open arms fellow believers who don’t see things the way you do.
And don’t jump all over them every time they do or say something you don’t agree with
– even when it seems that they are strong on opinions but weak in the faith department.
Remember, they have their own history to deal with. Treat them gently. Romans 14.1: The Message

You might hate this one, Truthseeker (and I can pretty much *guarantee* everyone else here will), but it's where your music (trance) meets my music (metal):
(The video is made up of game footage from the game Kingdom Hearts, and is not an official video)

I used to be a rave dj in the late 90's early 00's. It was crazy. I used to play up and down the west coast from LA to SF, and was twice flown to Anchorage Alaska on their dime. It was an obsession at the time, and I used to get such a natural "high" from doing it, but then once the night was over, I would slump into a feeling of emptiness. It was very hollow and wasn't fulfilling. I cringe now at how responsible I was for the downfall of many people. The sort've music that guys like Tiesto play, it appeals to the senses, makes you feel like you're in a higher state and makes you feel that everyone who experiences what you're feeling is on the same wavelength and all is well in the world. But it's ultimately not enough to fulfill any permanent longing.
I think a lot of that music has evolved. Nowadays the younger kids are into the electro/housier stuff like Erol Alkan, Justice, Deadmau5 etc. But the effect is the same, and ultimately the result as well...emptiness. I'm not immune to it, it's something I still struggle with. I do know this though, the music we'll hear in heaven will blow anything we've heard on earth away. We'll hear tones and melodies unimaginable to us now. We may even be able to harmonize with our own voices. If I think _________ is an amazing singer here on earth, imagine the voice of an angel, or better yet, God Himself. If I think _______ is a "genius" producer, what about the compositions of angels, or better yet, God Himself.

Thanks, Sid. The reminder that what we get off on here, at its' best, not only is transitory but won't hold a candle to the Light of the World. And the more time we spend reaching people for Jesus instead of reaching for the transitory, the sooner we'll reach the eternal high.
"Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness, looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God..." 2 Peter 3:11,12 NKJV Cheers!
Hey Bravus i ll get enough squares 4 you!Actually i like your style too. It s like a heavy version of Linkin Park. I like almost all kinds of music from celtic to gabber.
Hey Sid i don t see anything wrong with being a raver dj, but maybe that s just me. You refer to Tiesto, he is indeed very very good. I see trance music differently than you do. It brings joy in the lives of many and it helps you to forget your problems for a while. It s also a very powerfull tool for physical excercise.
Do you also like the following song?i think it s one of the greatest.

Tiesto is a big ball of cheese. He's a joke among djs. No one really takes him seriously except maybe clubbers trying to relive their 'glory' days or entry level alts that haven't heard much else. But maybe in another 10 years, he'll be "relevant" again in a post ironic way.
You really enjoy that? I actually don't mind that as much as the stuff TS had. But I can't imagine listening to that for to long. I never was much into Heavy Metal. I enjoyed rock. But in the last 10-15 years I have not listened to much of that type of music. I prefer christian music now.

Different strokes for different folks, of course. I do enjoy Daath very much, where, I have to admit, that Don Francisco track on the previous page had the effect on me of fingernails on a chalkboard.
I guess the difference is that I am happy simply to acknowledge that we all have different tastes. Others seem to have to call on God to guarantee that their tastes are superior...
